In competency-based interviews blowing your own trumpet is not the secret to success -evidence of past performance is.
It is astonishing how many of the authors of books, posts or blogs insist on going in there and “putting your best foot forward, by telling them how good you are”. I beg to differ – yes, you have to be confident and positive but you don’t need to show so much ego. The interview is your day in court as far as the organisation is concerned. The interview is the forum where you make your case by presenting your evidence. If you don’t know how to do that go here
